INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE OCGI INTERACTIVE DATA DOWNLOAD SITE BETA VERSION
This website allows "what you see is what you get" downloading of both Vector and Raster based geographic files and images directly to the users computer via compressed (.zip) aggregated files. The user can zoom to the desired area and select the from the various vector based geographic layers to be downloaded via the ArcIMS Extract function. Features visible in the map frame of the website will then be compiled and processed into a series of shapefiles that will be aggregated into one .zip format file that the user can download to the desired location on their computer.
In addition to allowing for the creation of custom vector based file formats, the download site will also allow the user to download either 1995 State of Oklahoma DOQ and/or DRG Images in the USGS Albers projection to be downloaded in aggregated .zip format as well. When the user has zoomed to the desired area, and if the top layer on the index to the right of the mapframe is the "Quadrangles (Download)" layer, the user can download not only vector data for this area, but the 1-6 DOQ or DRG Images in MrSID format for the region visible in the mapframe. The user will receive 1 image for each format and for each USGS Quad visible in the frame. These images are full quadrangle images (not quarter quad images), and the world file for each image will be downloaded in the .zip file along with the MrSID image file.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or another Pop-up Blocker program, please be aware that you must disable the pop-up blocker or hold down the CNTL button while making the selections to extract and download data. This is because the ArcIMS site uses pop-up windows to perform the extract selection. If you do not disable the pop-up blocker or hold down the CNTL button you will be returned to the default map upon making an extract selection.
After the desired .zip files are downloaded to the user's computer, the various shape and image files in each .zip file can be extracted and used in ArcGIS, ArcView GIS, or any other GIS software that supports these file types.
To begin the extract process, click on the button in the lower left corner of the button set on the left side of the map.
