DESCRIPTION: CONSTRUCTED ON US HIGHWAY 66 IN 1933, THIS CITIES SERVICE STATION IS DESIGNED IN THE ART DECO STYLE PREFERRED BY THE CHAIN. INCREASING BUSINESS BROUGHT ON BY INCREASED TRAFFIC ON ROUTE 66 RESULTED IN THE EXPANSION OF THE ORIGINAL GAS STATION TO A MULTI-BAY SERVICE STATION, ONLY TO FAIL AS A BUSINESS WHEN THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SUPPLANTED THE OLD ROAD. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 3/3/04.
