DESCRIPTION: THE CHEROKEE FRIENDS CHURCH IS THE BEST EXAMPLE OF CRAFTSMAN STYLE ARCHITECTURE AS APPLIED TO A RELIGIOUS BUILDING IN ALFALFA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA. THE CHURCH, CONSTRUCTED IN 1919-1920 IS VISUALLY DISTINCTIVE AMONG THE RELIGIOUS BUILDINGS OF THE COUNTY. THE WIDE EAVES, KNEE BRACES, DISTINCTIVE FOOTPRINT, AND INTERIOR FINISHES REFLECT THE HONESTY AND SIMPLICITY OF DESIGN THAT ARE HALLMARKS OF THE CRAFTSMAN STYLE. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 12/6/2004.
